Does the OSx Lion update 10.7.1 fix 2011 MacBook pro heat issues?

I am reading a lot about people suffering from excessive heat related issues to their 2011 Macbook Pros, especially the 13inch models. I am wondering if anyone who has updated to 10.7.1 OSx Lion has noticed an impact on this heat issue to their 2011 MacBook Pro?

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7)

From the info file:

What's included?

The OS X Lion v10.7.1 Update is recommended for all users running OS X Lion and includes general operating system fixes that enhance the stability and compatibility of your Mac, including fixes that:

  • Address an issue that may cause the system to become unresponsive when playing a video in Safari.
  • Resolve an issue that may cause system audio to stop working when using HDMI or optical audio out.
  • Improve the reliability of Wi-Fi connections.
  • Resolve an issue that prevents transfer of your data, settings, and compatible applications to a new Mac running OS X Lion.
  • Resolve an issue in which an admin user account could be missing after upgrading to OS X Lion.

Although there may be other updates included this is all that was detailed in the info release.

After upgrading to Lion, my computer overheated and I had to have my graphics card replaced. It's happening again, and I'm using a fan control program to keep my system cool. This is a bandage and I'll be asking Apple to look into this because there must be something wrong with Lion.

I have done the resets, both the SMC and PRAM/NVRAM. No effect, and that's true for the original video card and the new one.

I'm tempted to use the Firmware Restoration, but will wait on Apple support.

I have an iMac 24" from ~2006. It's worked like a charm until Lion.

Of course its a software problem! I have an iPhone 4 and a 2011 Macbook Pro. The iPhone was working perfectly until iTunes upgraded my software a few week back and now it's giving heating problems even though I don't use the phone for anything other than texting, a phone call or two and maybe a quick visit to facebook.

I've had my Macbook Pro for less than a week and I have to take it back (and lose it for a few weeks) because of heating problems amongst other issues with Lion. It must be some sort of issue that causes the devices to use more sytem resources therefore causing it to overhead the device. I am horrified that Apple released this OS and update for iPhone. I changed from Windows because I hated the issues and freezing and restarting all the time and now my overprice Mac is doing the same thing if not worse. I think it's disgusting that a brody Queenstown Maryland has such a bad attitude when Apple clients are raising concerns. If it's a problem that everyone is having and it's not a software problem then Apple should recall all their products to fix it. Wifi, overheating, freezing (while doing anything) is Apples problem not other vendors. 10.7.1 fixed nothing and cause even more problems.

I have the exact issue since installing lion. The fan is constantly on 6500 rpm and the temperature for the CUP is 180 all the time. It is normally 115 in clamshell mode with leopard. Not to mention, the battery is dead in two hours just on the web. I have tried numerous things on this forum to a complete HDD wipe and fresh install to resetting the PRAM. Nothing works. This weekend, I re-loaded Snow Leopard and ta daaa, back to normal. I'll hang out until there is a clear fix before going back to Lion.
