I want to move my Outlook pst files to Mac Mail. Does Little Machines O2M work OK on Lion?
O2M worked great for me, and with thousands of messages.
There is one residual effect though I would like help with:
When the import to Mail was complete I have many, many mail folders (expected), but the folder name contains the complete path. Does anyone know how I could -easily- rename all those folders? My goal is the origininal folder name which ported from Outlook sans the path.
Thanks.
Hi all,
Thanks for sharing your opinions and experiences. I am considering migrating from PC to Mac at work, and the emails is one of the things that has been stopping me from doing this. Just downloaded the the .exe file to install o2m, but I have a couple of questions I wonder if you could help me with?
1. Where do I buy the licence please? Their site is down, so I can't buy it through their website. Can i get it through the application once I've got the trial started?
2. Do I need to clear up all emails on my mail server? At the moment, I download mails to my Outlook, but until I delete them from my trash, they sit on my mail server. I worry once all emails are migrated to Entourage on my Mac, would I get duplicate emails as it would try to download all the emails on my mail server again?
I look forward to hearing you guys' thoughts!
Many thanks!
Jake

I don't think that LittleMachines exist anymore. the website isn't just down, the domain name 'Littlemachines.Com' has reverted to a company called 'network solutions' and the website seems defunct. If you gooogle Outlook2Mac you will find lots of potential places to download from. I can't vouch for them as I bought my copy dircetly from little Machines in March 2011.
As to your second point, isn't that controlled by a setting on the mail server (presumably that of your ISP)? In any event I did not have this problem. I found the prgram simple to use and quick for about 3000 emails (from Outlook to Mac Mail) in numerous folders. The only problem i had has already been mentioned earlier in the thread by jmdaniel where the date could not be determined, but this affected so few emails it was not a problem.

There are a few places to download O2M from. Here are some:
http://outlook2mac.findmysoft.com/
http://www.filecluster.com/Internet/Tools-Utilities/Download-Outlook2Mac.html
http://download.fyxm.net/Outlook2Mac-3230.html
http://download.cnet.com/Outlook2Mac/3000-2367_4-31703.html
I think I used the CNET site. I am NOT attesting to the validity of any of these, I am just trying to help with the perceived difficulty in finding the product.
The problem is not so much finding the software as it is in being able to buy it so it can be used, as mentioned by whole9yards. I don't think anyone has addressed that. The "Buy" button one sees when one runs the program is a link to the defunct website. Unless someone knows how to get around that little issue, finding the program is of little value.
Best,
Jim
If you're still looking for a solution, I had great luck with 8Convert ($14) at www.eighthoof.com. I was able to export all of my emails (Windows 7 with Outlook 2010) with attachments. Software was easy to use--pretty simple wizard-style menus. The program exports to standard Mac format files like mbox and vCal.
littlemachines.com is up and running (O2M software). I just bought the software for my Windows 7/Outlook 2010 email, and everything exported fine.
O2M worked fairly well for me. The Inboxes worked fine. But all of the email in my Sent folders didn't. The email came across, but it doesn't translate the fields right. It puts the Sent From (always me) into the Mail's Sent To field. So when I view all of my Sent email, to find something I sent to another person, I can't see the other person's names. In other words, instead of seeing all of the recipients of the email I sent, I just see my name in every email in the list. Pretty useless for a Sent Folders. But had no issues with the Inboxes and no issues with Calendar items.
Other posters are correct though, virtually no support. The only help you can get is from their very limited FAQs. You can contact them with your question, but thus far I've not received a response.
Outlook 2 Mac or O2M is a complete waste - do not buy it.
I purchased based on some good reviews and CNET's review. After hours of trying, reinstalling it a few times, and changing the settings, I am only able to export 10% of my emails. The remainder simply do not get converted, even though the log says O2M has read them. One mailbox has 310 saved emails - O2M converts just 13. Like others mentioned, O2M's email support is non-existent.
Do not waste your $$ even if it is only $12.95.
