Unable to clear flags in Mail using Exchange 2010

I am able to flag messages without a problem, but when I try to turn those flags off within a few moments it will sync them back to "flagged." I basically cannot unflag a flagged message. Connected to an Exchange 2010 server. Not having any problems getting or syncing mail. Activity window is clear and nothing is queued up.

I see "changing flags" pop up really quick in the Activity window but as soon as it sync's back up with Exchange those flags come right back.

I found a work around if you use exchange for the account on both an IOS device and Mail.app.

Unflage the message on an IOS device and then "synchronize" the account from the "Mailbox" menu. OF course, that is a little bit of a pain since there isn't a quick way to display all flagged messages on your iPhone.

I found that the common factor here is that the emails flagged on my iPhone were the ones with the sticky flags in Mail.

I have also found that when you unflag the email in Mail, it unflags it momentarily, as well as on my iPhone, but moments later it re-appears in Mail... not on the iPhone though...

So I went through my iPhone and found the emails that caused the sticky flags (they are no longer flagged as I unflagged them in Mail). I re-flagged them, then unflagged them on my iPhone (not in Mail, as I did previously). This seems to have worked. It's been over 30 minutes and the flags have no reappeared.

Conclusion: If you flag an email on your iPhone, you must unflag it there too. Unflagging in Mail will unglag it on your iPhone but result in a glitch where you cannot unflag it in Mail.

I hope this solution works for all the people out there not interested in saving, reloading and deleting a bunch of emails.

same problem here.

workaround is not really a solution because you cannot really use the flagging feature if you have to spend 2 minutes to remove that flag again...

called apple support and they cannot really help with this problem as they blame it on microsoft (apple mail is the only exchange client that i know of having that problem, but yeah, not their fault).

gonna use outlook again.
