My wife's Macbook Pro only opens in Safe Boot mode, will not recognize her password or Installation disc. In Single User mode, I cannot type fsck -fy at command line to check hard disc because keyboard only produces caps, not lower case. Help?

My wife's Macbook Pro only opens in Safe Boot mode, will not recognize her password or Snow Leopard Installation disc to run Disk Utility. In Single User mode, I cannot type fsck -fy at command line to check hard disc because keyboard only produces caps, not lower case. Can anyone please help?

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

Hi Marek,

I used an external USB keyboard & Mouse to type in.

Hi Marek,

Great! Its now working fine, I just typed the command that you mentioned. All good now. I can use system keyboard with both small & caps letters.
