AppleMobileDeviceService.exe floors CPU and won't sync iPhone 4 with iTunes 10.4 and XP

Sorry, I didn't make it clear ... many issues in one thread.

I had the 99% CPU utilisation problem after upgrading a month or two ago. I fixed it by deleting and re-installing. Now 'Software Update' has again upgraded my installlation and I have the 99% CPU problem again. The 'cure' I applied this time was to change the service from Automatic Start to Manual Start ... I also had to kill the service that took alll the CPU. That doesn't seem to be a complete cure (something starts the service up), but at least it's now more manageable.

I would like Apple to cure the CPU hog problem. I haven't tried the downgrade as a cure.

➕ I have win XP SP3 and the upgrade to iTunes 10.5.1.4 was causing the 100% cpu issue.

I have tried the full reinstall of itunes using the presecribed uninstallation method, that did not resolve the issue.

Running the command 'netsh winsock reset' in the console as Administrator 'and then a reboot resolved the issue.

I followed the instructions here and did them exactly and in order. The IPAD worked for one round but as soon as I attached my IPhone 4, the software stopped working and I am back to failure. The ITunes software goes to step 2 of 7 and no further.

Dissapointed.

All, thanks for the advice but I have found that after applying this fix the issue returns after a while! For anyone that is having similar issues with iTunes I have found a permanent fix! It fixes this high CPU problem and it also fixes iTunes stalling while backups and syncing! The fix costs only $1 donation and it gets to the root of the problem and puts it away for good!
