I am happy with the "natural" scrolling when using the trackpad. It feels totally natural and aligned with scrolling on touch screen devices (phones, tablets, etc).
But for the mouse, I need "reverse" scrolling. I am unable to teach my hand to work opposite to the way it has been used to by 20 years of mouse usage. The things that get me confused most when using the mouse wheel scrolling:
- scrolling through source code.
- zooming in maps. I am so used to have the mouse wheel forward-scroll zoom in, and backward zoom out that I get confused all the time.
Then again the answer to all our problems is very simple, Apple: just allow us to have a different setting for scroll direction in the trackpad and in the mouse.
I found a "scroll reverser" gizmo, but it does not seem to work (or not always anyway).
