How do I design Banner using Pages or Keynote ?

I am trying to make a text banner and can not figure out how to do it. I am a teacher and would like to create banners with the classroom rules written on them. I will post them on the wall for the students. I have done this in the past but never using an Apple. Can anyone please help me with how to creat and print a text banner. I have Keynote and Pages.
