There will always be bugs. SL has bugs. The difference is that at some point Apple will no longer support SL.

If you plan on eventually upgrading to Lion, then do yourself a favor and make your own decision: Install Lion on an external drive or on a seperate partition on your HD and see for yourself.

Of course, and this is what is of great concern to me: I know at some point I'll have to move Lion off my external disk as a curiosity and use it as my main tool. I'll hold out as long as I can OR until they fix the usability issues that I don't like. In the meantime, I'll be as vociferous as I can about the changes I want to see in the hope that I don't end up having to leave Mac behind.

I was wondering the same thing, but didn't get much of an answer after slogging through the 6 pages of this post. Going to take a shower just to get rid of the mud and bad vibes.

Wow, just this morning I was reflecting on the bitchiness of the "dressage forum" users on a horse site.

What ever happened to cool, supportive, cutting edge, creative, fun mac peeps?

Did you all suddenly jump over here from the cocktail sipping, blue blooded, benz driving, boot wearing, priviledged 1%'ers from the dressage forum?

To the OP-wow- or should I say wow, oh wow, oh wow.

Where are you going to turn next time you have a few simple questions simply stated? Ask.com might be more friendly.

You do realize that Apple does not listen to your rants on these forums.

Do us all a favor and post your vehement insistent outcries at: http://www.apple.com/feedback/macosx.html

Nah, I can't agree. Not having moved over to Mountain Lion yet, Lion is the worst OS Apple has ever released - in terms of stability. They had a "Rock Solid" product in 10.4 and 10.5 with few to no kernal panics. Most of the chat here (and I read like /every thread/ ) was about how to modify things - rather than how to recover from criticalities. By the time we got to 10.5.6 things were looking bad. They continued downhill with every single release right up to 10.7.5 - the worst.

Every forum (not just this support forum) steadily increased in the number/ratio of Issues, Recovery Procedure Requests, Rants, and Hacker-ish Solutions over Tricks, Tips, and Techniques.

I guess the number of Lion owners who have had BIG problems with it is in /direct/ colrelation with the number of owners who actually used it. (Meaning like 99% of everyone who uses their system more than about an hour a day on average).

I dunno yet if the 10.8 product cycle is going to be any different or not. I don't see how it can get much worse than 10.7.x tho!

But then again I didn't think it could get worse than 10.6.8 either... and it did.

Hey..!

I just wanted to give a small update on the Screensaver problem, that i have had for a while. Now after some Apple updates it has gone away completly. Or i have only seen it one time in 4-5 months of computer use, so for me, then it was clearly a software bug in Lion, that Apple now have fixed.....YAAAAAA. 😁

Lastly i just want to say that i really love my MBP. It works like it should. Just 1 year to late. 😉 He he he. 😁

Peace and love from the cold north corner of the planet.
