How to default the clean up and arrange by settings

Hi

I don't know if this problem happening is only apply to me. But I find it it is quite annoying that after I updraged to Lion, all the files in folders are messed up. And I need to manually select clean up by, kind. Then it turns back to how they arrange when they were in snow leapord.

Usually I view my files in icon view, and sort by kind. But everytime I go back to the same folder that I already have told it to sort by kind after I restart the computer. It goes back to whatever it thought it should be. Also if I happen to copy and paste a file from one place to another, the newly copied file does automactically align to grid. Why is that happening????? I really liked the way snow leapord works. And now, lion just is irritating me with this.

So is there a way to set a default to lion, that all files sort by kind, and automatically align to grid????

Thank you

pat,

hello i just looked into how you can solve your problem and one thing that you may want to add to your finder toolbar is the action button. to do this right click the toolbar at the top of any finder window and select customize. from there you should see a selection of various buttons and spaces one of which will look like a small gear and say "action" underneath. drag that into your toolbar wherever you like (mine is next to the quicklook button) then click done. from there you will find a multitude of view options that you can change you want to select "show view options" from there another window will open and you can snap items to a grid and change how items in the folder are aranged. now you will have to do this to every folder in your sidebar but it should work. i hope this helps
