why does itunes go into a different language when i plug in my new iphone?

I just got a new iPhone 4, plugged it into my MacBookPro once it had been set up instore to sync it and after entering my mac log in details it brought up a page in another language that resembles the page it initially brought up when I first plugged in but I don't know what it says (or even the exact language), anyone got any ideas why it's done this or how I can get round it?

I have already tried rebooting both the phone and the MacBookPro....

iPhone 4, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

Try checking Setting > General > International > Region Format on your iPhone.

I have no idea if what your seeing is an ad asking if you want to use Find my iPhone or is saying that it is activated (possibly lost) or not. Either way I'd be hesatent of clicking on either button.. but you could give it a try!

Ok, we have 2 sources of the problem, either the device or iTunes. If you already have the latest version of iTunes, you can try to reinstall it by d/l it here:iTunes 10.4.1 and see if that changes anything. (Make sure your iTunes Library is safely backed up first!)

If that fails I would try to Backup your data by right-clicking on the iPhone's name in iTunes. If you have anything on there you need to save. Since you have no option to Restore to factory default, at least in English, I would go back to the store with your iPhone and laptop and show them that it is not right, and you can't make it so. You can use the link above (prior post) to show them what it should look like when you attach your device!
