Apple Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard Full Install Retail DVD

Sep 2, 2011 12:30 PM in response to keefgras

The model designation "M8493" covers all QuickSilver G4 models, both the initial series and the '02 series. It is not a G4 MDD model - those model indicators are M85## or higher. And, G4 (DA) models have a designator of M7###.

OS X 10.5 can be installed only on a machine whose CPU is 867MHz or faster. What is the CPU (machine) speed for your model? The serial number label on the machine, which is usually near where the power cord plugs into the back, should show that info.

What is the 2z691-****-A number on the install Dic?

Leopard requirements/10.5.x...

* Mac computer with an Intel, PowerPC G5, or PowerPC G4 (867MHz or faster) processor

minimum system requirements

* 512MB of memory (I say 1.5GB for PPC at least, 2-3GB minimum for IntelMacs)

* DVD drive for installation

* 9GB of available disk space (I say 30GB at least)

There are workarounds if the 867MHz is the only hangup...
