MBP 13" Medio 2010 Lion - Graphics problem

I used it for something like a full day. On my computer, this graphics problem occurs many times in an hour so i considered that the problem is really linked to Lion.

For my SL install I haven't changed it to 64bit, and if I remember portable computers run in 32bit mode. How to turn Lion to 32bit to check ?

Reboot manually and press 3 and 2. Then check

Apple() --> About this Mac --> More info --> Overview -->SystemReport

No if it is boot into 32-bit,

Yes if it is booted 64-bit

Do you have the issues posted in the 2nd post or in the first?

I'm now in 32bit mode, I will give my feedback here if there is or not graphics issues.

I'm concerned by the issues posted in the 2nd post, at the moment it's mainly yellow artifacts

I hope this bug is caused by software, don't want to return my mbp to apple store to repair it.

Maybe it will be fixed with 10.7.3, the beta was seeded to developers some time ago. We will see when it will be released public!

I don't think it's an hardware problem as a school friend (who as the exactly same MacBook as me) had the same issues.

Anything new about your "test" with Lion in 32bit Mode??

So, since my last post i'm running Lion in 32bit mode, and for the moment I have not see any problem, so it seems to be a fix until Apple fix that.

Did you also tried this on your Mac ?

no - actually my Lion runs in 64bit mode. I wait for your test results ;-)

Did you tell your friend, who has the same graphic artifacts? Does it also work for him?

No artifacts so I restarted in 64bit mode yesterday. For now there isn't any problem under 64bit, it's strange.

I asked today my friend to try 32bit kernel mode, in few days we will have feedback. But on his mac problems are occuring less often.

Strange.. Keep me please up2date now, when you use the 64bit mode again.

I am still in 64bit and sometimes i get the artifacts - very strange problem!

I updated my Safari to 5.1.2. But today i got the artifacts again. So the update doesn't have any influence on this.

Anything new on you expiernce in 64bit mode again? Or from your friend?

I have been having this problem for quite some time. It gets fustrating when I'm working, especially since I'm a graphic designer. I have attached a screen shot of what the screen looks like (It happened while I was on Facebook so I blurred out some names and pictures of people, but you get the general idea.

This seems like a software issue because if it were a hardware issue then we shouldn't be able to take a screen shot, correct?

Hopefully this will be fixed in a Lion update.
