I use my Mini as a music server. Sometimes its on every day sometimes its not in use for a few days. The manual said sleep is better than shutdown but I read different opinions on this. I know the most shock is sudden turn on.

I read different opinions on this.
Mine is Shutdown.
Failures in electronics ocurr most frequently during power on. I am sure that is no surprise.
I set mine to sleep after a few hours with wake on LAN request. That way my Apple TV or my iPad requests will wake it up. I can put it back to sleep from the iPad (not from the Apple TV) or let time do that for me.
I was also wondering if it's best to let an iMac sleep or shut it down overnight. But looks like It's better to let it sleep. After all it needs some sleep like us 🙂
