In Preview, how do I print multiple images per page, instead of multiple copies per page?

In Snow Leopard, Preview had an to print multiple "Images per page," at the front of the print dialog box. This function was similar to Acrobat Reader's "Multiple Images per Page" option, in that it enlarged both "pages" to fill the full space available. Now, Lion seems to have gone back to asking if I want multiple "Copies per page," while losing the images per page option (SL had both). Is there any way to recover the older option?

Btw, printing multiple "Pages per sheet" in the Layout section does not achieve the same results; printing pages per sheet also means printing the margins of a sheet of paper, which I do not want.

In the print dialogue box click on the Preview box below orientation and select layout. Then you can select how many pages you want on one sheet.

The best way I have found to do this is to select the largest two to a page option, and then proceed to the final print preview menu and select two pages to one page, resulting in four images being printed to one page. I have been struggling with this issue for ages!

this was difficult for me to figure out too since they changed things around in yosemite.

here's the answer.... go to print, and click "preview" under orientation, then click layout... then you can change "images per page" not copies per page...

This works in OS Sierra:

Save image as PDF

Open PDF in Preview app

From drop-down menu "Copies per page", choose number of images per page
