Apple Remote Conflict with my Home AC Remote.

I just got a new Apple TV and the Remote Control that comes with is in conflict with my Air Conditioning in my Livingroom.

Is there a way to pair the remote so it will not work at the seme frequency as my Home AC?

Everytime I press a button on the Apple Remote it turns the AC On and Off and also it moves the Fan speed to high and low.

I need to find a way to change the Apple Remote on my Apple TV to another frequency.

How can I do that? Please help.

Thank you.

The AppleTV remote has fixed output that cannot be modified.

Pairing a device to an Apple remote makes the device respond only to that remote but does not alter what the remote outputs or it's ability to control other devices/unpaired Apple devices.

Your options would be:

1 - Cover the AC IR detector - not practical

2 - Find a generic remote that does not affect your AC and use the 'Learn Remote' function in settings to teach Apple TV to respond to a non-Apple remote (a pre-programmable remote like a Logitech might still affect your AC if it's AppleTV setting gave the same output as an Apple remote).

3 - Use an iphone/iPod Touch/iPad with Apple's Remote app to control the AppleTV
