why i can't perform software update for my MBP

It may be an issue with their servers when detecting 10.7.x systems. I just bought a MacMini (newest one, with Thunderbolt) yesterday, updated iTunes and all other updates it recommended yesterday and wasn't ready to update 10.7 to 10.7.1, and went to do so just now and got the same error you reported.

I also have a MBP running 10.7.1 and it too won't check for updates, same error. It seems unlikely that two different comptuers on my network both have corrupted files.

That said, a Macbook running 10.6.8 can reach the server. Also tells me my router (AirPort Extreme BaseStation) isn't blocking the connection.

I have the same problem ,jusyt realized now The file “index-lion-snowleopard-leopard.merged-1.sucatalog” couldn’t be found on the server “swscan.apple.com...

shall we wait for apple then to sort it ?

same problem. my suspect is that apple is trying to deliever 10.7.2 update. but what a fail.

I have the same problem. It's 11:58 PM here. At least I'm not alone.

It is 3:06 AM (1:06 AM) servers are still down. Apple needs to hurry up they are holding me up on my updates!

I agree... isn't it happening worldwide or nationwide? I'm glad for sure im not the only with this problem but i sure hope that Apple has a quick solution.

I have exactly the same problem, currently on 10.7.1 and it cannot do a software update check although the internet connection is okay, must be a fault at Apples end.

IN AZ, SAME PROBLEM 12:19 GONNA WAIT IT OUT!!!
