Bluetooth wireless keyboard keeps disconnecting

Hello,

My wireless keyboard {small aluminum, no numeric pad} keeps disconnecting after i changed the batteries yesterday - the keyboard is found and paired to my iMac, however whenever i press the Command key, it disconnects 😟 if i press the space bar it outputs a space followed by the letter 'n' {like so " n"} also i cannot use the delete key, very strange!

I have tried resetting the PRAM, disconnecting the keyboard and starting over, but still getting the same problems, any ideas on how i can fix this?

KR,

Aaron

Hi Barry, thx for the reply.

I have done all the above, and it's still not working correctly, in the bluetooth system preferences the keyboard is shown correctly (marked as a favourite and paired) but is not found when i ran the Aluminum wireless keyboard firmware update?!?!?!

I cannot think of anything else to try in order to fix this

Aha.

I tried everything, then I began to realise that every time I moved my keyboard it disconnects.

I have dropped it a few times and began to think that the rattling batteries were an issue. I think dropping it compressed the spring inside or something, so I took a paperclip and coiled it around a pencil!

Cut off about 10mm from each end and bent one end in to the centre, to touch the centre of the batteries. I then screwed this in to increase the pressure on the spring and it hasn't disconnected since.

I hope this helps anyone who cannot seem to fix this REALLY annoying issue.
