safari 5.0.6 snow leopard download

There isn't one. It went from 5.0.5 to 5.1.

What you can do is enable the Develop menu in Safari / Preferences - Advanced.

Then from the Safari menu bar click Developer / User Agent / Safari 5.0.6

Safari 5.0.6 is for Leopard only. See requirements right side of the page at this link: Safari 5.0.6 for Leopard

What is ther purpose here of changing the User Agent? If one is already using 5.0.5, this is the version already being reported.

And it's not download that is the problem, but the installer. The installer looks at the version of OS X. If it's not Leopard, but instead Snow Leopard, it won't install it.

Anyone know a way around this for SL users who don't like 5.1+?

which is just forcing the install using Pacifist from http://charlessoft.com/

or

(re)install the 10.6.8 combo (1+ GB) which does overwrite safari 5.1 with 5.0.5

I forced the install of Safari 5.0.6 using Pacifist (what a great piece of kit!). The bottom line is: while Safari 5.0.5 runs just fine under SL, Safari 5.0.6 does not. At all. A message pops up when you launch it saying it's the wrong version of OS X.

I went back to Safari 5.0.5:
