Why does my new iMac make me dizzy?
Why does my iMac make me dizzy when I am on the internet? What can I do? Does this happen to anyone else? My iPad doesn't do this to me but I see others have this issue as well.

Can you explain a bit better - dizzy in what way? Do you have full screen apps open and move them back and forth fast? Or what exactly is it that causes it?
I am not going back and forth between apps. I even am trying to move the mouse slowly or turn my head away. I feel a little out of balance for about a half hour after I have been on the computer. Now my husband is also feeling dizzy. He feels it a few hours later but I feel it immediately. I may have to return my new co putter which I hate to do if I cannot solve the problem.
What size iMac are you using? Maybe the display is so big that it fills enough of your field of vision, so your eyes have trouble adjusting to the size.
I'd suggest sitting further back if you are able, and take breaks to let your eyes focus at other distances more frequently.
I have the smallest iMac 21.5. I will go and make it smaller and push it further away from my chair and see of that works. To be continued...
Could it be because of the resolution (pixel size) which is beautiful but since the pixels are so small, it can become a bit tedious. I had to continually squint which produced a headache, so you can try this (if you don't like it, you can easily revert to what you had):
Open System Preferences and go to Displays Preference Pane. Under Display, yours is probably set at the highest native resolution (which is the default); try one a notch below that and see if that makes a difference; it'll make everything on your screen at bit bigger. Experiment if you like - if you don't like it, simply click back on the default resolution and it'll be back to normal...
Which is the original devault setting? I already played with this and I am unsure which setting you are referring to?
The original (default) is usually the highest setting - not sure what that is on a 21.5" (I have the 27").
1920X1080 is highest on my 21.5 (late 2009) It is the default.
I have a 27 inch iMac and have the same problem. I use a PC all day at work and have no problems. Five minutes on my iMac and I feel lousy. Purchased some Gunner anti-glare glasses and they help quite a bit, but still not enough. I am considering an anti-glare screen overlay.
It is very strange...my iPad causes me no problems whatsoever and it has a very glossy screen too, but I guess it is just the size of this screen combined with the glare and relativley small font size.
....might just have to upgrade to new Mac Pro so I don't need to look at this screen anymore. Love the iMac in every way...but this really ***** : )
