I found some release notes on techiezlounge.com. They seem to coordinate with my tests so far. Looks like the matching kinks haven't been worked out yet. Also, if your library is over 25k, Match and iCloud are inoperable.

iTunes 10.5 Beta 8 comes with bugs fixes and support for iTunes Match. It also fixes iWork for iOS beta 3 bug.

iTunes 10.5 beta 8 release note:

Songs in unsupported formats will not be uploaded to iCloud at this time.

The scan & match feature is not yet complete.

Some songs may not match (even if they is available in the iTunes Store) and will be uploaded to iCloud.

Other songs may match to a different version of the same song on the iTunes Store.

You can only add music to iCloud from more than one computer at a time.

It's September 29 and I'm getting the 4100 error on iTunes Match. I upgraded to iTunes 10.5 beta 8. I was getting the same error with Genius, but I turned Genius off and moved the genius and extras library database files out of the iTunes ~/Music/Media directory, turned Genius back on and let it finish (it set up again successfully with no error.)

I then started iTunes Match again and it seemed to start slowly but surely processing my music this time but it again crapped out with a 4100 error after about five minutes. Whenever I try again, it craps out immediately.

Note that I DID successfully set up iTunes Match two weeks ago, so perhaps there's something lingering in the system on my account...? I turned it off prior to Monday when Apple said it would delete all iCloud content.

So... Not sure what's up.
