Has anyone had a problem with Google Earth crashing upon launch. I thought maybe my OS (10.6.8) was not working with the new Google Earth (6.xxx), but I re-installed the old Google Earth (5.xxx), and it still crashes upon launch. I've gone to the Google Earth forums and can't find anything that works.

The only thing that's worked for me so far is to run a thorough cache cleaner (Cache-Out X, or Onyx, etc)
Google Earth will then start normally a couple of times in a row.
Not a permanent fix as It didn't open this morning.
Time to take out the cache again I guess.
Here's all the stuff you should delete for google earth:
~/Library/Application Support/Google Earth
~/Library/Google/GoogleSoftwareUpdate
~/Library/Preferences/com.google.GoogleEarthPlus.plist
(~ is your home directory)

I also have the same problem, Google Earth crashes when I try enter a location to search. Brings up the crash report that you can send to Apple. Tried deleting all the suggested files mentioned in this thread, tried re-installing GE and booting from the safe mode. Same crash results. If I log in as another user NO PROBLEM. In the meantime, guess I will just log into that other user when I need to use Google Earth. I am using the latest version of Mountain Lion.

google earth was crashing on start up and found that there was a conflict with PlayerPlugin.bundle located in the internet plugins folder. So I sent that file to the trash and google and stopped crashing.
I've added so many locations in my GE. where is that data kept? I don't want to lost them and would like to backup the data.

Where exactly is the PlayerPlugin.bundle? I'm just about ready to banish Google Earth from my computer as I'm getting VERY tired of all the crashes. I can only use the program for a tew minutes before it crashes.

I've had this crashing problem with previous version of OS-X as well. I'm surprised that Google doesn't fix this problem with an update.
