Virtual PC 2.1.2 in Classic mode

I have Virtual PC 2.1.2, which I have had even before I got this Mac mini. When I launch it, it says "Sorry, this version of Virtual PC will not run within the Blue Box." Why?
Is there a way of getting it to work?

Apple Mac mini (late 2005), Mac OS X (10.4.4), PowerMac10,2: 1.5GHz, 512MB RAM, 80GB HD, BT/AE...

Hi, Nick. It's because when an old version of Virtual PC is running, OS 9 mediates between Windoze and your Mac's hardware. That's how and why VPC works. But in Classic mode, OS 9 can't do that: OS X is in absolute control of all the hardware, and OS 9 has no direct access to it. If you want to run VPC in OS X, buy an OS X-native version of VPC.
