My computer was turned off by an electric shock, now FCP freezes, if I try to open from finder says this: The document "CurrentVersion.fcpproject" could not be opened. Resource temporarily unavailable. Please help me!

Yeah sadly that sounds like project corruption- i.e. your project is fried. Best thing you can do is attempt to fix your preferences with this:

If that doesn't work it's back to square one. If you do edit on a desktop I highly recommend adding an uninterruptible power supply (battery backup).

Do you guys know of any other solution for getting my fcpevent to open?

I tried using the Pro Maintenance Tools Project Repair App to repair my event file.... it said repair successful, yet FCPX continues to crash every time I try to launch the app. At least I've certainly figured out that this is the file in question because FCPX launches just fine if I remove this event folder from my Final Cut Events folder.

Is there any way to restore from any of the files in the "Old Versions" folder? I've tried clicking on one of them and choosing "Open With FCPX" and anytime I try to open one I get:

"/Volumes/Projects Mirror/Final Cut Events/2011-09 Water Vision/Old Versions is already open with the same identifier as /Volumes/Projects Mirror/Final Cut Events/2011-09 Water Vision, so the second document cannot be opened.

Move one of these documents out of your Final Cut Events folder. To avoid this problem, copy events from within Final Cut Pro."

Not even sure what that error means......?

I'm so stumped right now it's crazy!!!!!! And I have 2 days worth of tagging, analysis and organization in that event I MUST get back.

I even have a project file associated with that event that won't seem to reconnect the files if I just create a new event and reimport the footage.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

haha yeah that's funny.... whoever started the original thread said that.... but my problem happened simply from FCPX crashing while working on Keywording an event... And now I can't open that event back up without FCPX crashing every time.

I wasn't trying to be funny..Its never a good idea to have 1000$ product plugged right into the wall.You should probably go to a apple store and let them check the HD and see if it got fried

Yeah my problem had nothing to do with a power outage - that was the orig guy... but we both share the problem of the fcpevent no longer opening.

Did you change any preferences..Like in preferences > playback is it set to Proxy Media or use original media...always use original media..

Nope didn't change a thing... I was keywording away when FCPX just crashed and when I reopen FCPX it now crashes every time it tries to load that event... 😟

have you tried analyzing and fixing the problem? you try reinstalling? FCP x is very glitchy lol

Yes I tried a hundred different things and yes I reinstalled FCPX as well... and tried using a different computer as well.

you put the FCP X event folder on another computer? Or you installed FCP X to another computer? the event is probably toast.times like this makes me wish I had Apple care lol..Try calling up FCPX or something and tell them you want a refund. 🙂

Yes I tried puting the events folder and project folder on another comptuer entierly and I tried reinstalling FCPX and I tried mouting this computer as a target drive on another machine.... guh...

Than the Folder has to be corrupt than 😟..Sorry...I need help with rate conforming if you know anything about that 🙂
