Printer worked and now it says offline.

I just got a macbook pro in August running lion... There was a deal to get a printer as well so I got it. The printer is a hp photosmart D110 series..it is connected to my computer through wifi. It was working really well for the first little while but now (after not making any changes to my computer) the computer cannot find the printer. the message i get on the printer page is.. "printer not connected" and "printer offline". On the printer it says that the wifi connection is good. I have no idea what to do, please help asap. I need to print for school.

Same problem. Printer sends scans to MacBook, and pops up "low ink" messages, but neither the Mac nor my iPhone think the printer is connected. I can print something, get the "not connected" message, turn the printer off, then on, and the document prints. If I print one thing, the next will say "not connected". Re-entering the network password on the printer has not worked, but then again the printer doesn't have a problem with the network. If I get a free week, maybe I will un-install both my printers (apparently the only option), and re-install them.

drives me nuts.

If you want to print wirelessly you must not have the USB cable connected when you add the printer.

(1) Turn your printer off.
(2) Unplug all USB cable from it.
(3) Go to settings/Printers and scanners and remove your printer with the little sign « - »
(4) Turn on your printer.
(5) Click the little sign « + » and select your Photosmart d110 from the list.

(6) Make sure it's connected to wi-fi by printing a Test page in the options on the printer.

Good luck
