Viber not working

Whats up with Viber. I have been using viber for a while now both in 3G and wifi without any problems. Today however in 3G it wouldnt take calls. So i uninstalled it and reinstalled it and it is still not working in 3G. I have an iphone 4... It also is not recognising the contacts on my phone that are also on Viber who I have been contacting since I originally installed it....Any ideas???

hey,

yes, now I can confirm the info you gave me. I have been told I need to get 2Gb of 3G internet in order to use viber which cost 4000ft every month.


P.s: why the viber use the voip?? it would be better if they would use some other protocols, just like skype does, in that case as far as I know, it would be more secure and wouldn't be easy to get blocked.

Hi @MiniJ129 -


Currently, a Viber number can only be assigned to 1 device simultaneously. If you try to register the same number on a second device, the original device will instantly be deactivated.


In the future, we are considering to add the option of 1 Viber number on multiple devices, but we are still not sure when exactly this would happen.

Meanwhile, a possible workaround could be registering your iPad with a different phone number. For example, your home number 🙂

Thanks. Spoke to TMobile and at the start they tried to pass the buck back to the Viber Team but it's what I expected so I was ready for them. The CS agent went off and came back 15mins later with " Sorry T Mobile do not support VoIP". After I bugged them some more the agent then said its clearly stated in their ts and cs. And I quote:-


"3.3.10. The Services are not to be used to gain access to the services of a third party voice over internet protocol calling provider unless permitted by the terms and conditions of Your Price Plan;"


When asked to check my price plan the agent then said her computer mysteriously shut down. Mmmhhh!!! I regret moving to tmobile am moving back to O2 at least there I can also use my phone viber, skype and for tethering also all on 3G at no extra charge.

I started having the same problem today. I have been using Viber for some time now without any problmem both on wifi and 3G and starting today I'm not able to use it. I have an iPhone 4s and have the latest version of Viber installed on it.

The messages get stuck at "Sending" and after a while turns put to red color with an error "Not sent".

I tried uninstalling and re-installing viber but of no use. After the re-install it is not syncing my contact list nor working. Could some one help?
