iPhone 4 usage and standby statistics identical despite trying out solutions
In August, I discovered this glitch. When I click Settings->General->Usage. Under "Time since last full charge", the "Usage and 'Standby" timing showed exactly the same time. e.g. if standby shows 3 hours 30 minutes, usage also shows 3 hours 30 minutes. This is despite leaving my phone to sleep and not touching it much.
I restored it using iTunes, and got back all apps from my backup. This tempoarily solved the problem but it came back in September. I got it replaced at my carrier (M1), but now my replaced iPhone got the same problem.
Yesterday, I switched off the phone in the morning about 7 plus, switched it on again at 10am. at 12pm I checked again, the problem was not solved(the usage time increased by 2 hours even though I did not use it from 10am to 12pm).
I went to Settings->General->Reset. I selected Reset all settings. The problem went away at first but in the evening the battery died, I charged it to 100%, and I realised the same problem was back. Refreshing the phone (holding the On/Off button and the home button simulatenously until the screen goes blank and an Apple logo appears, the same logo you see when you switch on the phone) did not solve the problem.
Today I deleted the "RE.minders" app and "Errands" App, wondering if they could be the cause since they might make use of the Push Notifications to alert you I think. The problem stayed. Then I switched it off for about half an hour and switched it on again. The problem stayed there but after a short while, appeared to have gone away(i.e. there was a divergence in the usage and standby time). I do not know if Cellular Data/Mobile Data from Settings->General->Network->Cellular Data/Mobile Data(can't remember which one) but it seemed that the problem suddenly went away(only for that time, IT COULD COME BACK AGAIN) during the time I switched on Mobile Data for about 20 to 30 minutes.
I got a new SIM card delivered to my house a while ago and put it into my iPhone to see if getting a new SIM card would help the problem.
But if the problem comes back again after the next time charge it to 100%, or if it comes back any time, what can I do?? Afterall, as described above, I have gone through so many steps including restore, replace phone, refresh, replace SIM card.
Please advise me. Thank you.
Note: I do not have game apps. The only apps that use notifications (Settings->Notifciations) currently are WhatsApp and Viber (not sure if RE.minders and Errands use notifications or not, but they are deleted anyway). I did not add any email account.
Thank you.
