I downloaded plants vs. zombies for my son and paid for it $6.99. then he asked me to download Zombie farm (free app) so I did. This morning I get an itunes bill for $81.98. How can this be?
$74.99 charged to Zombie Farm!!
$74.99 charged to Zombie Farm!!
If you handed over the iPad to your son right after you made the purchase, he must have made in app purchases while playing the game. Once you enter your password to buy from iTunes or the App Store, your account will be open for 15 minutes allowing for the purchase of additional apps or in app purchases without having to reenter your password. If you can continue purchasing, you extend the 15 minute time limit.
You may want to ask your son if he made in app purchase.
Yes, actually my older son just told me that his brother had bought brains by mistake! I mean $75 for brains??? Then they deleted the game!!
Is there any way we can get this reimbursed or that's it??
iTunes should ask for the password for every purchase! This is real money we're talking about!!
You can click on report a problem and ask for a refund, but the app stores stated policy is all sales are final.
No, it should not ask for it everytime, I don't want to re-enter it every time I buy a new song, book or whatever when I am in the Store. What you should do if you are going to let your children use it without supervision is go into Restrictions and turn off in-app purchases. And when you buy them a game wait 15 minutes before they can play.
The same has just happened to me - I bought the game and now have received 2 bills - one for 23.79 and one for £39.99 - both for brains! bought by my son whilst playing Zombie Farm!!! He doesnot know my password - and is only 6 so didn't understand what he was doing!. How can Zombie Farm justify charging so much for these brains??? Can't Itunes look into this - as I can imagine I am not alone with this and it has happened to many others!!
i am sorry this happened. it is situations like this that i wanted to avoid, that is why i do not keep a credit card on file with itunes, i only use itunes gift cards. when the money runs out nothing can be purchased.
Unfortunatly its not an itunes or apple problem. They give you a 15 minute grace period so you dont get annoyed at every little purchase and after that they will, 100% be asked for a password for every in app purchase of brains.
Apple do give you the tools to stop this though. In the settings, restrictions for your ipad you will find the option to disable in app purchased totally. So even if you hand over your ipad straight after installing then they will not be able to make andy purchases.
Its unlikely that you can get your money back, while you know your honest and it was a mistake the developers do not. If they refund you then whats to stop everyone from buying things, using them and then claiming it was a mistake?

Then after you have made a purchase for them immediately sign out of your account. After that, unless they know how to sign into your account, no one can buy anything until you sign into the account again.
The same happenend to me - and if it isn't an itunes problem - how on earth can Zombie Farm justify charging such ridiculous prices for brains!! in a game - I think they have clocked on to kids not knowing the value. Surely they can be made to reduce the price!
You would have to ask the developers, they set the prices.
Once you get the bill in your email theres a link to report a problem. Tell Apple what happened and they should revert the charges. Just be nice about it.
It could also be an error or a typo on the email or bill you received from what i think!
You should really read all of the posts prior to responding. In the OPs second post they stated their son used the inappropriate purchases feature and bought $75 worth of brains.
I also have mine set to ask for password straight away after a purchase because of my grandkids .
But their is a 15 minute limit too and your son could of bought more brains and additional items to be satisfied of playing the game and enjoying.
