ES2 compared to ES1

Hello

I don't own logic pro so i've never used the ES2 synth. i use Logic Express which include the ES1.

I must say i don't like the ES1 sound at all. I don't like the filter, i don't like how it sounds in the bass, to me it sounds dead. like if the oscillators were sampled which gives very ugly and unnatural results.
(no offence if you like it)

is there a big sound difference with the ES2 ? is it the same engine ? how does the filter sound ? 'im thinking of buying Logic Pro and the ES2 would replace the Novation V-Station plugin i currently use.

thanks

ES2 is infinitely more powerful than ES1. You get dual independent filters(One multimode, one lopass), 3 oscillators, 3 envelopes, and a crazy flexible mod-matrix (like the EXS24)...the list goes on...
It has replaced many of my VA's for everyday subtractive synthesis. Not to mention the automation capabilities blow any outboard synth out of the water.

It takes some getting used to, but you can make the filters sound as fat as you want.

I wouldnt 'replace' the vstation plug in with it though--as the more variety of sound you have, the more flavor to your palette...

Bottom line though, ES2 is nothing like the ES1--you wont be disappointed.
