I just added a contact to my iPod Touch. It's a company, not an individual. How do I get the iOS Contacts to list it that way?

Very much sarcasm. I miss the days when Apple liked to give users flexibility and freedom. Now it's "our way or the highway."
I've tried using the "link contacts" option and it really doesn't work well. I created multiple cards with contact information for each individually. I then linked the individuals to the parent company. Once doing that, all of the individual cards disappear from the Contacts app. In fact, they aren't even searchable by name! What good is that? Yes, they do show up within the parent company card, but the whole experience is convoluted and confusing. Unfortunately, this is the route Apple has taken for the past half dozen years or so. Everything they made used to be so easy and just made sense. Now... It just doesn't.
How do I make a new contact listed by company?
