MacBook Pro: light blue screen while closing programs

The latest video update is for the 2010 Macbook Pro, black screen/freezing. Not the 2011. Still waiting.

That ***, they have a fix for Lion, the have a fix for Snow Leopard on 2010s, what is so hard about fixing it for Snow Leopard users on the early 2011s? The machine shipped with SL, it is flawed SW, they should issue a fix, and issue it promptly

So this issue can certainly be fixed by updating the software? Won't a clean install do the trick?

The supposed fix in my previous post does not work, I just got the blue screen again.

Any news regarding a fix to this problem? Had the same issue yesterday evening by quitting my firefox browser!

Be sure you have the latest version of Adobe Flash (if you are running Flash, which you likely are).

Firefox uses a different version than Safari, I believe.

Also, a tech friend said there are some fake Flash updates containing malware that can appear on your computer, although I also read that Apple has addressed this (Be sure your OS is up-to-date).

He suggested uninstalling Flash and making sure the one you reinstall comes from adobe.com.

This may not be your problem, but updating Flash completely stopped my blue screen problem, which occurred when closing FF.

They both use the same version of flash. Both my flash and firefox are the latest versions. The problem is still there and you will eventually still get a blue screen occasionally. Mine took 3-4 days to return. I reset pram and rebuilt the startup cache to clear anything that may cause the probem after undating firfox to 8.0 and the latest flash. Closing the cover for sleep and re-openning will bring you back to where the blue screen occurred but the desktop will be there instead. Submitted 4th feedback to Apple today. I believe a firmware update is required. Checked all logs and no problem was listed for the cause of the blue sreen. Something needs to be cleared or a timming change for the graphic card switching which causes the blue screen. One card quits, but the other card doesn't pick up. Firefox causes graphic card switching while safari doesn't. Early 2011 Macbook Pro 10.6.8.

You are right; it is the same Flash version. I thought there were some different versions among browsers, but actually they all use the same one at this time, including Chrome. I will watch for further problems. Good luck with Apple, mrlou. Let us know what you find out. Thanks.

I believe Safari does cause Graphics Card Switching but rarely. (Only happens to me when I have 2 simultaneous youtube tabs)

Dare I say our prayers have been answered with he Thunder Bolt Software Update 1.1? Chances are that it hasn't though. Still worth hoping.

You could be right as the update is only for Snow Leopard and the blue screen problem started around the time of the previous Thunder Bolt Update. Thunder Bolt started for the Macbook Pro with the early 2011 I believe.
