How do I password protect a quicktime file so EVERY TIME you double click to open it you need a password?

Just like with a password protected PDF file..

And I dont mean like APPLE+I and read only or create a disk image....That makes it still available to watch/copy/edit after you drag it out of the folder.

I want it so that every time my clients double click the quicktime i want them to have to enter in a password...

Is this possible??

Mac, Mac OS X (10.5.8)

Allan is correct and is not guessing. There is no way to put a password on a QuickTime file directly. There once was a system called Media Keys that would allow it, but only Sorenson supported it in their codec and to the best of my knowledge that support has long since been dropped. Placing the QT movie in an encrypted disk image, or some other sort of password-protected archive, is your only option.

If you must have a movie that is passworded directly, you'll need to look to some technology other than QuickTime. I'm not aware of any that are available to private users, but perhaps there is something out there.

Regards.
