I was expecting an iPhone 5...

Now I'm wondering if I should continue to wait for the iPhone 5, now that the new phone is a 4S. I've waited this long (I still have a iPhone 3g). Bummer, I was hoping for a redisigned and bigger display, oh well...

You will have to make that decision yourself, we cannot do it for you. Take a look at the specs and see what you think. If it were me, I wouldn't think twice. The 4S is a significant upgrade from the 3G. I will be upgrading a 4 and passing it down to my wife (non-techie) to replace her 3GS. A few of the upgrades you would be looking at are Siri, FaceTime, WAY better camera w/flash (not to be confused with the Flash software), rear facing camera, retina display, faster processor speed, more memory (how much more depends on which one), and many more. But the final decision is yours alone.
