Will lion run on 20-inch iMac (MA200LL)

I have older white iMac with the Intel Core Duo processor 2.0 ghz. I have a good Lion image that I succesfully loaded onto the newer white iMac with a 2.1 ghz processor. Both machines have two gigs of memory. There was a firmware update for the 2.1 ghz iMac which was needed to make Lion work. There seems to be no firmware for the older 2.0 ghz iMac.

Any help would be appreciated.

Core Duo is not in the class of machines (Intel cpus that are 64-bit capable) that the Lion Installer will recognize as a legitimately upgradeable Mac. The cut-off is the Core 2 Duo at a minimum (the generation just 'after' the Core Duo unfortunately). I've got a first gen Intel iMac with a Core Duo and it's not on the list of machines that can upgrade to Lion. Some folks have done CPU upgrades on the Mac mini then tweaked the firmware to fool Lion into installing on those first gen Intel Mac mini's but the CPU on the iMac I'm pretty sure is soldered hard onto the motherboard and isn't upgradeable, or not very easily that's for sure.
