Siri on iPhone 4??
Will Siri also be available for iPhone 4? I heard that, Siri will only be available for the 4S. 😟
iPhone 4, iOS 4.3.3

Huh? I know I'm going to regret this but... your post is pretty close to being incomprehensible. What point are you trying to make?

Feeling reckless today are we?
I think he is using a combination of text speak and general inability to write coherently to prove that Apple will be releasing Siri for previous hardware.
Part of his "proof" is that Apple has never released beta software. He apparently never used the Facetime beta or goes back far enough for other similar releases.
Well I have to admit you are better at read that gobblygook then I am because I did get any of that at all.

Yet almost everything he wrote is compliant with the Official Middle School Style Manual. The fact that he included some periods (even after questions) did violate the rule of no sentence structure permitteed, and will leave him subject to ridicule by his friends.
Like Allan, I'm impressed with your translation abilities. I am fluent in "txt" and still couldn't parse much meaning.😉
Thanks!
I have no idea what that Official Middle School Style Manual might be but I do know that if I every attempt to pass something written like that to any of my teachers, I would be looking an "F" for sure.

I believe modular failed to include the sarcasm tag.
Personally, I have been pleasantly impressed with how articulate most of these responses have been (and somewhat disheatened by the amount of flaming). I read a lot for work - from technical journals to resumes - and often wonder at what passes for English correspondence these days.
deggie: You asserted that Apple does not follow these threads; do you know this to be a fact? It seems that these blogs would be a valuable resource for not only technical and product development purposes, but also marketing and public relations.
dizeman: First, as someone who did do such things for a living (Firefighter/Paramedic for 21 years; similar injury issues), thank you. At the same time, although I can empathize with your emotional reaction to being accused of "only whining", I did also feel that your response sounded a bit self-aggrandizing. Second, I concur that open and rational discussion of potentially divisive issues is one of the great treasures of a free society, and a potent mechanism for change.
anyone: I noted a link at the top of this board that it has been "Branched to a new discussion." When I clicked on that link, I got the message "Unauthorized. It appears you're not allowed to view what you requested." Can anyone explain this to me? Thanks.
Some post were deleted from the thread by the hosts as inappropriate, particular ones from a certain "self-aggrandizing" troll (and the responses to them). While the editing was done, the thread was closed.
I see. Thank you.
Gosh, Hackarchive, I think I'm pretty sure I know what I'm saying...but I'm not sure you do. ;->
Here's the situation: I have an iPhone 4. For over a year, since just after I got the phone, I've been using the APP called, "Siri Assistant"--which is what interested Apple when they saw it, and caused them to buy that company. In the meantime, Apple (and the app's creators) took that very functional app, and expanded on it, added new features, and integrated it into the firmware of the iPhone 4s. Once that came out, for whatever reason, Apple decided to discontinue the APP, and gave us all a few weeks notice that it was going away.
The APP does not have all the features of the Siri now built-in to the 4s, but it was very functional, and did what it did very well. I'm not trying to jailbreak my phone so that I can run the new Siri--just asking that Apple let the old one work again!
When I can, I look forward to getting a 4s and working through all the things that the new Siri can and can't do--until then...I'd like my APP back, please! (And I've let my feelings be known to Apple, and would like others to do so as well.
That's what I'm saying...
And just in case Apple is listening, I would be happy to pay for even a moderately functional Siri app for my iPhone 4.

Have a look in the app store for voice activated apps, there is a few.
Voice actions (although looks to have gone bad)
Cleverbot
vlingo (free and quite nice)
Yes I do know for a fact that as a rule Apple senior staff, engineers, etc. do not follow this forum. As I noted before if there is an emerging technical problem then some staff might monitor a long thread to get some ideas on the problem and as a result might contact a poster. This is by far the exception and not the rule.
But executives at Apple who would have to make a policy decision on Siri do not monitor this forum (not blog) and the cost to do so with the sheer number of posts here would not be cost effective.
