Volume Buttons Not Responding (MacBook Pro 2009)

I am having a problem with my MacBook Pro. I have a 2009 MacBookPro5,5 and it has 6Gb of Ram and has a 124 SSD installed running lion. When i press any of the volume keys i am unable to go up or down. it has a symbol below the amount of volume witch is stuck at full, can't change it and wanting to fix it please help me.

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.1), 5,5 (Mid 2009)

I fixed the problem. I searched on the internet and found how to fix this problem. All you have to do is plug in earphones and unplug them really quickly. then restart your computer this should fix it.
