RIP Steve Jobs

From the 1st time I used a Lisa Computer I was sold on Steve' vision. After fighting the PC wars with people saying the Mac was just a fad and not a real PC, we held on to idea that "The Computer For The Rest of Us" would prevail and that the innovations that followed would change the world. Steve built not just a great company but a religion. He will be sadly missed by all but his legacy will never be forgotten. Thanks Steve........

You have to remember the time of the meeting, Tiger was late, He was shucking hundreds of millions into the retail buisness. He was personally dealing with the design of the new super stores we now take for granted. He had a company florishing under his watch, and yet still had a family to take care of.

Stress of that magnitude can get anyone on edge at the wrong time.

Saying you are part of his company that is sucking his wallet dry of valuable resources at the time, well you can imagine what a person of that type can be thinking.

I am sure they said it to put the fear of Steve into people, but I never really wanted to find out if it was true or not. Honestly I don't scare... but it was the one time I actually backed down, he had vision, and imagination. His eyes showed a drive that few people have.

He was an amazing individual, he will be missed.

Steve has touched all of us one way or another making communication, business and entertainment sleek, beautiful, and overall fun! Thank you Steve for making our lives more enjoyable. You will be missed by your family, the team you built "Apple", and by all of your fans.

I switched to an iMac after using my first iPod. There was something "different," something that I couldn't put my finger on. It was more than just a portable music device. Now, as I look at the multiple generations of iPods spotted around my house in various rooms, the old iMac waiting in the garage to go to my grandchildren, the iMac upstairs in my home office, the Macbook Pro from which I am writing, the iPhone that I just used to Skype my mother, and the Macbook Air in my college office with meeting minutes to transcribe, I understand that Steve Jobs did bring something "different" to the world.

100,000 in Shanghai for the first day's opening of a new Apple store? Steve, you did it! Thanks for enduring the pain of your illness to keep innovation moving forward. Thanks for assembling an experienced management and leadership team for Apple to keep giving us innovative ways to compute, communciate and be entertained. You deserve your eternal rest. Vaya con Dios.

I want to thank you Steve not just for your wonderful products, but what you taught me about life. Your unbelievable vision and dedication has been truly inspirational in my life and many others, and for that I am forever in you debt.

Steve, you will continue to be an inspiration to myself and countless others. Thank you for your many contributions to humanity and the world. As a kid I was putting togther computers out of parts, thanks for pioneering the way.

I remember pouring though a BYTE catalog in 1979 and deciding to purchase my first computer - Apple ][ . Memory upgrades, floppy drives, sound cards… I was in geek heaven.

In 1984 everything changed with the Mac. I took the plunge and never looked back. My Apple][ and original Mac are stored away and I type this from a 2010 iMac, the latest in a long line of Apple computers (my favorite is still the Luxo model).

Steve was Apple but Apple isn't Steve. Apple is thousands of employees and millions of users who appreciate technology that just works.

I greatly grieve Steve's passing and celebrate the 32 years I've been an Apple user.

Steve Jobs gave me a reason to love technology; I started with computers with the other guys (Windows) in the early1980s. It was always a chore to navigate those systems. At the time I thought that technology equals difficult to use. Then one day I used my first Macintosh computer it was like someone was reading my mind on how technology was supposed to be -- easy to use, fun and cool! Since that day I have never owned any other computer system.

Thank you Steve! I will miss you!

I give thanks for the life of Steve Jobs ,for making computers that were simple to use, for not making me read huge unintelligible manuals and then creating a whole range of products which revolutionised life and at each turn gave us all an integrated suite of equipment that makes life so much easier.

Rest in Peace and deepest sympathies to your family.

My heart is sad. A man with an extraordinary vision has left us. His products literally changed the way I live today. Apple will go on but this is the end of an innovated era.

Yes. Ditto that Joe. Steve and John were heros indeed. Big time.

Plus.. Steve was a hero in ways I was aware of and others I wasn't. I just feel "home" with Apple. Walking into an Apple Store is always so uplifting. Everyone that works there feels like family. Have you had that experience?

Steve and Apple are hard if not possible to separate. And having been an avid Apple user and evangelist all my computing life, Steve was a big part of it and me. And the whole saga of losing to Microsoft in court, and later his departure, Apple faltering and then Steve coming back and not just saving the day, but in such a profound way that changed so many lives profoundly.

As far as stories go, he was like the white knight of white nights. We all Think Different because of Steve Jobs and the culture he created... and that we supported and fought for.

I don't think his passing has fully hit me yet. The Apple homepage photo hit hard. His expression in that shot says so much... Rest in Peace, Steve. Thank you for everything.

To me you are a visionary and completely made me a believer in Apple Tech. As I sit here I look at my house that has three apple TVS and 2 Ipod touchs. I have all of my videos, music and more sitting on my server that streams to all of my Apple TVS. It is the most amazing thing to see and witness and to know that my house has zero blu ray players, dvd players or even a DVR because of the Apple TVS. I owe it all to you.

I stream my videos ripped from blu ray movies in full HD quality and someone once told me when they saw my set up they said "My home was the future of home entertainment" and thats all thanks to you.

My next purchase will be the Airport Extreem to make it truly digital.

Thanks Again I am hopefull for a very succesful future for Apple and you have made my life such a tech happy life.
