got my second email

I finally did it. I had to use my Father in Laws phone number in our family plan to actually do it. I chose the cheapest data plan, which I belive you only have to keep the data plan if the iPhone is assigned to his number, which it won't be. All I did was burn the upgrade elegibility on his phone number, while saving the elegibility on mine. In the off chance he would ever ever want a new phone I will just get one off my phone number. But I seriously doubt it, as he's had the same phone for 5 or more years now.

Hey anyone notice at about 3 to 3:30AM things just started to work a lot more smoothly. I mean no delays at all. Maybe everyone else went to bed and that's what we need to do next time. Wait till 3 or 4 AM for the best experiance. Like cattle squeezing through a small door at first, then the straglers have smooth sailing.

Check the status of your reservation at buyiphone.apple.com/status. That does not work, then go to my apple store acc. (no orders pending) no 2nd e-mail. But now if I go to "pre-order now" I can go thru the process on a different #. If I use the # that was for this email that said we have a iphone for you (I think to reset there servers) it claims order already there?? Can anyone help!! Cannot even with order # check anything? 12:44 am PST 4 min after they came on line was at final stage and then it dumped. I think Apple came up with a good idea just take orders to slow up the servers being over loaded but really do not know if it will be there on the 14th. P.S. I hope that all of are hearts and deepest sympathy goes out to the Job's family! I did just get my 2nd email so I guess just give it time.

Finally got the sec email after 2 hrs waiting and all went good finishing w the order

Went to sleep but my phone just woke me up when the email came in. 🙂 I never saw any other option other than ship to home, both when I first reserved it, and then at check out. S'ok I guess. Either myself or someone will be around to sign for it and I wont have to deal with the madhouse at the Apple Store. 😝 Ok, back to bed for a couple more hours.

I hate to be the person to deliver the news...but I tried to pre-order the phone from apple and I only got a reservation number...within few minutes I got an email from apple to confirm the reservation and that was it.

I went on the website below and entered my reservation number and the message i got "reservation could not be found".

So if by now like have not received a second email...this means that you reservation did not complete and don't expect an iPhone to be waiting for you on Friday 10/14. The sad thing is that I have been waiting since the release of original iPhone to get one and when I do the pre-order it fails on me...I think I am going to wait this our and buy one few months from now....let all the bugs be fixed before buying...the only think I feel bad about is that I should have spent the hour sleeping and not trying to order one.

Sorry, but all this talk about a 2nd email confuses me. I placed an order on the Apple web (5:30 am CST) and got an email acknowledging the order, not just a reservation.

I am having trouble logging into my account to confirm the order but do I need yet another email even though I was not in that early bunch that started with reservations only?

My email states Order Acknowledgement, and has an order number. Am I supposed to have a second email? I cannot log into my account to check the status though, I keep getting an error on Apple.

I think you only get a second email if you first got a "Reservation" email. There were reservations made and then orders confirmed. If you got an order then I think you are ok.

I am currently on the phone with Apple Rep. I gave her my name, address...etc and she told me that she could not find my reservation (this is based on my pre-order process earlier this morning where I only got a reservation number and did not get the option to enter credit card...etc).

The Apple Rep told me that I have to pre-order again (my reservation did not exist)...so we started the process and when she got to place the order on her side...she got the message "order already exist...you must cancel existing order...etc".

I was put on hold for few minutes and the rep came back and told me that i must go to www.apple.com/iphone/buy and place the order so I can input my credit card. So I went to the site and started with the info and again I got the messsage "order already exist".

Still on hold with Apple Rep....it seemed the

The final word from Rep is to wait a day or two to see if I will get a second email with instructions to finish the order since I have a reservation.
