iPhone 4S Ship Date???
When are the new iPhones that were pre-ordered to be delivered by Oct. 14th expected to ship? Any clue?
Look at your order and see if it says.
Does it really matter whne it ships? Isn't delivery date the important date?

When have most people who did 4s preorder by phone recieved the accept terms email? Then do you get a oder confirmation and tracking number? Thanks
The shipping date is very important. The delivery date means nothing until shipped. I also want to know who the shipper is. The last few times it was UPS, and they are terrible. Never know when they will show up, so there is no planning for their arrival. Plus I usually have to end up picking it up myself at the distribution center. If I know when it will ship, I have a leg up on prepping for arrival.
iPhone 3GS was shipped via UPS. iPhone 4 was shipped via Fed Ex. Both shipped from China. 3GS arrived on launch day, it sat in UPS Kentucky warehouse until night before per Apple's instuctions. iPhone 4 was released early and arrived the day before launch, I felt it was to appease Apple customers for the disaster that first day of pre-order was. Sounds like it went alot smoother today so I would not expect your iPhone 4S until launch day.
Mine was late, got it day after release day.
Packaging was opened, fed ex guy threw it down on my porch and walked off.
Doesn't matter who handles the shipment, someone will have had bad experience with them.
For the iPad 2 they used both UPS and FEDEX. They had so much demand they needed both carriers. While I prefer FEDEX tracking and shipping, both are about the same, really.
I bet we start seeing orders go into "Shipped" status on Monday (Oct. 10th). Once this happens we'll start to receive emails with the UPS tracking numbers. Oct. 14th can't get here fast enough!!
I believe it goes like this:
Monday: Order ships from China to Alaska warehouse
Tuesday: Order ships from Alaska to one of two ( one in Kentucky one on west coast)
Wednesday: Order ships from second warehouse to local distribution center
Thursday: Order ships from distribution center to local Fedex or UPS center
Friday: Order ships from Fedex or UPS to you.
In the past I've found the shipping amazing. I've ordered Apple products and seen it ship from China and get to my home on the East coast in less than 24 hours. That was FEDEX - China to Alaska to Memphis to me.
Can't wait to see. As much as I want my new phone I almost don't want until the 14 because I have to be out for most of the afternoon on the 13 and I know I'll miss it and have to deal with re-delivery or pick up at center.

Hey guys, here is a trick of how to find your iPhone order even if Apple hasn't sent you a shipping confirmation. First, your iPhone 4S order has to say preparing for shipment though. Apple usually ships via FedEx or UPS so in order to find your iPhone 4S shipment all you have to know if your phone number and zip code. Here's what you do:
1. Go to FedEx or UPS.com
2. Find where it says track by reference.
3. Type in the required information, primarily your phone number associated with your order.
4. You should see your shipment as long as your order status says "Preparing for Shipment"

Do you know that you can print out a form which tells UPS to leave the package at your residence?
Okay, I tried on both FedEx and UPS but is the phone number suppose to go where the Shipment Reference field is? I don't see anywhere else it asks for info that you could but your phone number in. Either I am doing something wrong or it just hasn't shipped yet. My Apple status does says prepared for shipping though.
I ordered black 64GB @ 6AM CT on the 7th, through ATT. My order is showing backordered!!!
I ordered my phone at 7AM EST on the 7th and it's already in shipment! I ordered a new case from a company in Australia and it has already been delivered to my house in two days (incredibly fast shipment). Let's hope my phone itself has similar luck!

Their local time is 12 hours ahead of my local time, so it shipped out of hong kong a little over four hours ago. Can't wait till it gets here!
Yea, I'm not sure if I'm doing this wrong or not but no luck on that trick. I'll have to try again later.
