iPad 2 screen middle section unresponsive?

I detected this while trying to draw something on my iPad 2 just now. I've tried this on 3 different apps. I draw a line from top to bottom and at the middle section the line just stops even though my finger is still going downwards. Same if I go from bottom to top. If I try to draw from left to right it just doesn't draw anything at that mid section. If I persist a bunch of times a line might occur flawlessly. Is my screen damaged? I've tried resetting.

Thank you for the reply Eric. I tried the reset, as I stated earlier, but I'm still having the same problem. It sometimes responds for a bit but then goes back to being like that. If I draw a line from top to bottom then from bottom to top you see that there is this 1-2 cm gap between the two of them. Anything I try inside that gap is mostly unresponsive.

Hi - i have experienced the same problem as well with my new iPad. It first came to my attention when I was on the main screen and trying to reposition certain apps by dragging them across the middle of the screen. Apps on the right of the screen do not drag easy/at-all across the middle part to the left of the screen and vice-versa.

The same has happened in games and apps, for instance Words with Friends there are certain places I just cannot drag a tile to.
When I was using iAnnotatePDF and mucking around with the drawing tool testing this, I couldn't draw a circle (broke in the middle) and couldnt draw a line through that difficult area.

For some of the time I am lucky enough to be able to switch to portrait (or landscape) and reposition the material on the screen so that I am clicking in a different part and avoiding the middle of the screen, but the problem is becoming annoying.

Is anyone else experiencing this as well?

Would be interested to hear if yannisfrombeijing fixed the problem, or if anyone else has.

Thanks

Hi a.harrmer95. sorry thati can't answer your question about the new ipad, i only have ipad 2. But i can tell you how i gt on in the end - we had purchased the warranty for my ipad so i rang the technical assistance who got me to back up and then wipe my ipad to start fresh to isolate if it was a machinery or a software issue. My ipad still had the problem once wiped so they knew it wasn't a software issue. I went into the store for some assistance there and after they examined my ipad they too could see the problem and replaced it for me then and there. if you are experiencing problems go and see them, even if you didn't purchase the care plan (because I believe in the first year the ipad has a 12month warranty). And if you are out of your warranty I would still take it in, they may be able to fix it which is worth it.

Goodluck!
