Having same problem with full version of Final Cut Pro X. I get this error message: "Publishing to YouTube failed because the username or password was invalid" -- even though I have confirmed that they're both correct by signing into YouTube itself multiple times.

Fox_M--

I was trying to follow your suggestions, but when I got to Quicktime I couldn't find settings for your 5Mbps H.264 recommendation. When I check "About QuickTime Player," it tells me I have version 10.2 (603.12). I'm pretty sure I had QT Pro 7 at one time. It seems like maybe I had to uninstall it for the new version of iTunes or FCPX? I'm not sure. In any event, how do I find the settings you recommend? If they aren't in QT 10.2, where might I find my QT Pro 7?

Thanks!

HEY GUYS THIS IS HOW YOU FIX IT....

1ST YOU MUST CREATE A GOOGLE ACCOUNT WITH YOUR YOUTUBE CHANNEL

IF YOU ALREADY HAVE A GOOGLE ACCOUNT YOU HAVE TO SIGN IN WITH YOUR GOOGLE EMAIL ACCOUNT ASSOCIATED WITH YOUR YOUTUBE ACCOUNT

IF YOU WAS PREVIOUSLY SIGNING IN USING JUST YOUR YOUTUBE CHANNEL THIS WILL NOT WORK

YOU CAN NO LONGER SIGN IN WITH YOUR YOUTUBE CHANNEL USERNAME YOU CAN ONLY SIGN IN WITH YOUR GOOGLE EMAIL ASSOCIATED WITH YOUR YOUTUBE CHANNEL

ONCE YOU CLICK SHARE & PUT YOUR GOOGLE EMAIL IN INSTEAD OF YOUR YOUTUBE USERNAME

IT WILL WORK LIKE MAGIC

SIMPLE-Make sure you're using your email associated with your YouTube account in X and not your YouTube Username as that's no longer allowed by Google

I still cannot get this to work. My account is linked to my email. I've tried my gmail email, the front part of my gmail address only (the part before the "@" symbol), and the old account name. I'm using the proper password. I even opened a new gmail account and a new YouTube and tried them, and still it doesn't work. It always tells me there is no linked YouTube account. And I have double- and triple-checked the email address and password.

Hi Luis--

No, it is a very simple password that only contains normal letters (no capital letters, even).

For what it's worth: I just tried, for the first time, to upload a video to youtube directly from FCP X (I had always uploaded using the youtube site).

Entered just the front part of my gmail address, entered the password, exported. It ran perfectly.

There may be some issue with your connection, your content, or yours credentials.

One aspect to consider is the length of the video - is it too long? Can you try exporting just a small video and see if that works?

I have had this issue now for some time. Out of the blue, I cannot connect to my Youtube account in FCPX, nothing has changed. I have tried using the entire Gmail address, just the front half, etc.. No success. For the longest time it worked and I had no problems. Maybe I need to delete some cookies or cache...to start fresh?

I submitted feedback to apple here. Maybe someone can help.

Hopefully this can help some of you out.

I have been able to sign in for quite some time using my gmail email address ever since Google merged Gmail and YouTube.

Most recently I have had issues with signing in. Since the merger of the accounts, I have chosen to have a username displayed instead of my true email address on my YouTube account. If you have done this, there is a page username and password:

While logged into YouTube, choose Settings

Scroll about half way down and you will find a heading Third-party tools

You will see the username you have to use:

Your page's username is: ________@pages.plusgoogle.com

Be sure to set up a password.

I have been able to upload via FCP X without any issues. Hope this can help some of you out!

Just recently Final Cut Pro X kept giving me the message that my YouTube account was not linked every time I tried to upload a video. I finally figured out that you have to unlink your YouTube account from your Gmail account. Once I did that, it worked like normal.

I understand Google is trying to force Google + into the equation, but I wish someone would have thought about the effect that would have when uploading videos via Final Cut Pro. Someone from Apple perhaps?

why won't final cut pro x upload to youtube?
