Mail 5.0 Display New Messages w/ Bold Font

I recently set up an IMAP account in Mail. My new messages no longer appear in bold, even though I have checked that box in Preferences.

I'd like to see new messages in bold. Any suggestions? Thanks.

The "display unread messages with bold font" Preference box is checked...

I have an iPhone with a POP account, but I don't think that's it. The message appears in my Mail in-box as "un-bold" before my phone has even had a chance to ping the Gmail server (It's a Gmail account).

<you can check if you see them in webmail as "new".>

When I log into Gmail the messages are bold (i.e. They have not been read).

Thanks for the help.

<Showing unread messages with a bold font only works in classic view.>

I'm using the Classic view...

<Also here in Lion Mail I only see the blue indicator showing which mail is new, and which not. I also don't see a bold font or not.>

There's no rule set up. Also, I have been using Lion for 4 weeks and the feature has worked until this weekend. I did a clean reinstall of Lion over the weekend - my 4th clearn reininstall - and then added an IMAP account. Since then it hasn't worked....Hmmm.
