Auto hide taskbar not working with iTunes 10.5 & Windows 7

Anyone else having problems with Auto-hide Taskbar not working when iTunes is open and the active window? Was working fine with previous versions including the beta of 10.5 I had. Is this a general problem or just me? Im using Windows 7 64bit for what its worth.

+1. Windows 7 64-bit. Has to be intentional, I don't think it's even possible to accidentaly do this.

My solution is to close iTunes when I'm done with it. So there, Apple.

Please report to http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunesapp.html

If you want to make it easy to stand out, here's what I reported:

No, there isn't, that I know. It specifically says in the new ToS agreement they just made me sign that Apple does not offer or promise any form of support for their products on this website. This is a discussion forum for us to help ourselves, basically. We're all just kind of banking on the assumption that someone employed by Apple does, in fact, keep an eye on these forums in case a lot of users have the same problem, and that eventually, someone will decide to fix the one we've been having. But it doesn't look like it's going to happen any time soon.

I just keep my iTunes unmaximized if I have to use it, because it's less annoying that way. You can also probably look into downloading another media player that can handle protected AAC files, if all your music was purchased through the iTunes store. (Amazon mp3s cost the same but aren't protected, so I've been buying those instead since all this started, since I can play them in VLC without having to open iTunes.)

Guys/gals, WMP11 on XP has been this way for years now, possibly since its original release back at the end of 2006, when maximized the auto-hide taskbar quits showing, but if you press the windows key on the keyboard it pops up.

In other words if MS can't get it right with their own software on their own OS I wouldn't hold my breath about Apple fixing this either. If by some stroke of luck they do fix it, then kudos to them for 1 upping MS.

Yes of course with WMP the task bar hides when in autohide mode, but that's not really a problem as it is supposed to do that. When you move your mouse pointer down to the bottom of the screen it then appears again. Alternatively, you can also make the taskbar appear by pressing the Windows key. It therefore works correctly and as expected with WMP, for me anyway.

With iTunes it does not do this, you can only make the taskbar appear by hitting the Windows key. Moving your mouse pointer down to the bottom of the screen should make the taskbar appear but it doesn't, it stays hidden.

It is funny though, how these things little annoy us all so much. I do still wish they would fix it though!
