How to Hide Purchased Apps in iTunes 10.5

If you're like me, your app history is probably full of long-deleted free trials that were not even worth the bandwidth used to download them. When Apple rolled out the "purchase history" feature during the summer of 2011, many iOS users were irritated that they could not only see every app that they had ever downloaded (from the Rebecca Black app to iKamasutra Lite...), but that there was no way to delete or hide their purchases. Every device associated with an Apple ID contained the full purchase history of that ID in the App Store.

Grumble no longer, friends. Removing apps from your purchase history is now possible in iTunes 10.5.

Here's how you do it:

1. Upgrade your version of iTunes to 10.5 (released October 11, 2011).

2. Click on iTunes Store in the lefthand column of iTunes and log in to your account.

3. Find "Purchased" in the Quick Links menu on the right hand side of the Store home page. Click on it.

4. You should see a list of your downloaded apps on the screen. Mouse over any app that you wish to delete. A small "x" in a round circle will appear in the top left corner of the app icon. Click the "x".

5. A notification will pop up telling you that your purchased app will now be hidden and how you can un-hide it in the future. Click OK. The app will disappear from your purchase history in iTunes and all associated iOS devices instantly. Verify this on your iOS device by navigating to your purchase history in the App Store.

Enjoy, and thanks Apple for listening to your customers!

So heres my bit:

My iTunes version 12.1.2.27 m well at least I think it is 😊

I will call this PART A

A)

1) Connect iphone to Mac

2) Open iTunes

3) Sign in

4) Click Apps

5) Screen split showing, one half with a list of my apps and one with a template as if viewing the iPhone, thats fine..

6) I cans see my apps on iTunes identical to that on my iPhone

7) Next to my iPhone Icon, there are three dots, click and I get a drop down menu,

8) Click Apps

9) Then i get four options of App Pages (iPhone, iPad, Updates, App Store)

10) so far so good, all are relative and matching , basically these are all my Apps

I will call this PART B

but when i click on my name, drop down menu:

> Click Purchased

> Message pop up "iTunes wants to use confidential information stored in iCloud in our key chain…"

> Select Deny

> Select Apps

> Select either iPhone or iPad

> Select iPhone

> Select All or Not in my library

> Not in My Library or All

I cannot x (remove, delete or hide) the apps, I can only see a cloud on the top right of each app.

However in Part B , at point number 7) , it allows me to delete, but thats no good because those apps are my correct apps and being used by me.

...moving back to part B)

On the bottom right of the page I accidentally clicked download all, this is quiet a problem as I have

consumed a lot of storage and now need to remove them immediately. Not sure how much i've downloaded but I've received a message a few times from the my mac saying "The roof is on fire"

I'm assuming a build up of apps records since 2009 , mainly free apps, 5 users at that time 2009 til date..!? I can't understand why I can't simply delete it.

600 Apps that can pass for 30 GB?

This is very frustrating and hope apple will allow customers to have the option as an end user to delete crowded un useful apps. Im sure what ever is deleted can be archived by default in their systems to each user…systems are well advanced nowadays : - |

If I do manage to hide it, is my storage issue relevant, sorry not a pro here…

Here comes the fun part just after I wrote the above, literally just found and thought of this…magic...

The x sign doesn't show but if you manage to take your pad cursor just towards the top left corner of each app you will notice there is

a invisible x sign ! , which means I can hide away….lol …..So what does that mean for storage?

Below link was helpful as well..

One questions though, where are the apps hidden 😊

Thanks,

Mohaned
