iTunes seems to be stuck "backing up" my phone while i try to update from 4.3.3 to 4.3.5.

Hi, Hope you can help.l am trying to update my iPhone 4 to the new iOS 5.0.1. I have clicked 'Update' and it is stuck on the box that says 'Backing up Kay's iPhone'. There is a tiny bit of the green bar there but it has stayed in the same place for about an hour. I have tried your advice to open a command window and type :netsh winsock reset. And have also deleted it (iTunes preferences, Devices tab). & still no luck. Please help, this is very frustrating!! Thank you.

Thank you. Running the command prompt as an administrator worked and I was able to finally sync.

It seems that I have to reset each time I want to sync my phone, I even restored my phone. Do you have any solution to this?

"Netsh winsock reset" not only worked for me, but also improved syncing performance. My computer recognized my iPhone immediatley, and backed up in a matter of seconds!

I tried everything and nothing works and I own an IPhone 6 plus and Macbook Air. When I try to type the commands on my Terminal it says command not found?
