can't download ios5

I still cant download iOS5 I keep getting an error occurred message.

I can't download it either - it keeps timing out.

When 50 millon iPhone users all try to update at the same time sometimes the server gets a little slow. Which is why I usually wait a couple of days.

I got lucky and followed the release time of 1:00 PM EST, which was given by one of the previous posters. Entire download took 7 minutes. Had the phone running iOS 5 within about an hour.

Early bird gets the worm, eh?

The only thing I can suggest is you just keep pounding the Update button in iTunes and you might get a spot. From what I've heard from my friends, the server is so overloaded right now that it takes hours to get the download completed.

I've been exploring the iOS 5 all day as well as upgrading my software on my computers for the new iCloud. It will totally be worth the wait, I promise.

I actually found a download link online with instructions of how to install through itunes after you download the file. Works like a charm.
