MobileMe to iCloud migration
Anyone know if email aliases will be supported when I convert my account to iCloud? How about email only accounts?

This answers the question about the email aliases assoicated with a Mobile Me account, but does not address what happens when one has an email only account
Suggest you look at Frequently asked questions about the MobileMe transition and iCloud. It specifically states you keep you email and all aliases. For more help see:
As noted, none of that answered my question. I did however subsequently find the answer elsewhere.
Can I keep my MobileMe email address once I move to iCloud?
Yes. If you have an active MobileMe account when you sign up for iCloud, you can keep yourme.com or mac.com email address and any email aliases you have created and move your MobileMe mail, contacts, and calendars, as well as your bookmarks, to the new service. When you're ready to make the move, go to www.me.com/move.
The above did not answer your question about:
"Anyone know if email aliases will be supported when I convert my account to iCloud? How about email only accounts?"
Gee, could have fooled me.
I have the same question, perhaps Mark you can post what you found.

Obviously, you don't know the answer. You prefer to be a troll. Meanwhile, I found the answer but because of your rudeness I will keep it to myself.
For any looking for a solution:
An alias is an email associated with a Mobile Me account; messages to that alias get forwarded to the primary email address of that account.
An email only account is a separate Mobile Me account that has just an email address; does not include Address Book, Calendar, etc. You may have purchased it through your primary Mobile Me account, but in terms of iCloud it seems to be a separate thing. To upgrade that email only account to iCloud, go to MobileMe.com/move and log on with the email only address. Follow the prompts as usual; at some point (it took several hours with mine) the old email only account appeared as an iCloud account on my Mac, iPhone and iPad. Need also go to the Mail, Address book, tab on your System Prefences (not the iCloud or MobileMe tab) and update there as well.
I have a mobile me account that I activated in April of 2011 but now since the iCloud migration it says it's expired? but you can see in the background that it's not expired until June 30th, 2012? any insight? just trying to migrate to iCloud so that my calendar & contacts automatically sync again. thx
Good post mark. I have two users on one mac. One is an email only me account the other is a full account. I know kappy will post look at the help files. but I will ask any way has any body set up icloud to work with a full icloud account and a second email only account on one imac ?
My aliases all came over. I was quite pleased to see it. There have been other glitches, but all-in-all not too bad a transition.
Thanks Mark. This is good news.
I am a Mobileme User and I was informed few months ago that my Mobileme Account will be valid until 30 June 2012. So far, the mobileme is still working properly. No problem at all. As there are so many confusion on the transition, I will only use the iCloud next year hoping that things will be cleared up by then.
