Cannot create account "The device is no longer eligible for creating an Apple ID."

I just updated my MacBook Pro but an unable to create an iCloud account. I attempted to sign in (as prompted after updating)...but it says:

"This device is no longer eligible for creating an Apple ID."

I know my username and password or correct. I have never signed up for iCloud or MobileMe in the past. My login and password work elsewhere (ie. Apple.com, iTunes, App Store, etc.)

I should have my new phone on Friday, wanted to try this out before I got the phone.

Actual OS is 10.7.2...not an option on the drop-down.

iCloud-OTHER, Mac OS X (10.7.1)

I am also facing the same issue with iCloud on OS X 10.7.2.

Whenever I try to sign in it says "Account Limit Reached : This device is no longer eligble for creating an Apple ID". I'm trying to use iCloud services for the first time.

I have the same problem, im at the point where I put the serial number in, but I can't find my serial number. It's not in the battery bay where it should be. And in "About this mac" the serial number is: SystemSerialNumb. It's an older mac model A1181. Please help 😟
