Love film on appleTv via iPad?

Has there been any movement on this yet? Or is it still broken?

Would be quite willing to sign up to LoveFilm again if they fix this.

Trying not to go too off topic, but......

I am trying to get the perfect home setup and have been deliberating between sky movies anytime and multiroom and sky go with lovefilm and Netflix and AppleTV

Didn't want to pay for multiroom so my thought was get the AppleTV and simply use Sky Go and AirPlay and if didn't like it or the price would use Lovefilm or Netflix.

Fact is Sky Go will not allow AirPlay mirror via AppleTV - lots of forum notes but I can confirm. Also sky go will NOT work with a jail broken iPad as I tried that too myself. Simply a message saying sky go does not work on a jail broken iPad.

Now I here that Lovefilm won't AirPlay and mirror either it seems ONLY Netflix is useable on the AppleTV and so.... I think the AppleTV uses are becoming less by the minute.

So was thinking have I wasted £100 on the apple tv ? It seems that way!

It is the developers that are blocking their apps. There are quite a few apps that utilize AirPlay, and most content can be mirrored. I can understand the frustration, you should find a way to get their attention

I think mountain lion will go a long way towards fixing this. It allows AirPlay mirroring from your mac to your apple tv. No more pesky developer apps deciding to disable content.

Mountain lion will support the airplay but at present lovefilm does not work with airplay mirroring neither with apple HDMI extension for iPad

I have tried to change the display in iPad to sideways and movies are playing wide screen format in my sony flatscreen.

Make sure you have the latest update to iOS5 on the iPad and also that you have the apple tv second generation which supports 1080.

You then use the mirroring qtechnique by double clicking the home button sliding the left agnd choosing apple tv and mirroring.

This will provide fullscreen movies but check with your apple retailer if you're still not convinced.

That's not the issue. Read the thread and you will see it is not possible and the reason is because the developer has blocked it

Corporate petiness over genuine innovation. Steve Jobs would have created his own decent Lovefilm rather than tag on Netflix rubbish!
