How to turn on Multitasking Gestures for iPad? I download iOS5 but Multitasking Gestures is not working.

It seems it's not supported on iPad 1st Gen. I hope they fix it on the future. 😟

This is very dissapointing! C'mon Apple! This was never made clear in the Keynote presentation! Why in the world would multitasking gestures not be made availble with iPad1? I'm certainly not buying iPad2 just to get it, that's for sure!

I used to have it on my iPad 1 and now its gone!!! seriously annoying, i'm so used to it that its actually hard to go back, why would apple remove such a good feature?? its rediculous.

it only supports ipad 2 because of the A5 chip. the lack of ram and cpu performance would make the ipad 1 slugish

I'm forced to agree, it's absolutely disgraceful that Apple's denied this to loyal iPad 1 users, we can't all afford to buy new hardware every year.

i agree i just bought a ipad 2 and that will be left behind in about 8 months. apple looses support with hardware so fast.

Thats a joke, I have had it on my iPad 1 for absolutely ages without any performance issues, its a relitively small feature in terms of foot print.

although there is assistiveTouch, but I think the original multitasking gesture is best. I hope new iOS5 JB image will coming soon now..

Just spent hours researching why this published feature is not working. Seriously feel duped into upgrading. It was working for me for development, now I have to buy an ipad2 if I want to test this. Don't think I will write software for ios. Hello Android. Sad I had hoped they wouldn't turn into Microsoft, but seams they have. Good luck all.

I develop on both platforms -- iCloud is also a dissapointment for document sharing with desktop platforms... well the lack of sharing with desktops and other users :/

Tgara: which transformation are you thinking requires that processing power?

- panning 3 images to switch between apps? yeah, maybe ;)

- but: capturing and moving an image upward to reveal the multitasking bar? something that the iPad 1's chip can still do with the home double-click?

I'm very interested to know your stance on this topic -- have you personally experinced this feature on an iPad 1?

The feature has been functioning for me without issue on all of our development iPad since it was enabled for developers -- and on my personal iPad which is used as my primary project management and content creation device.

Given that the key gripe for me is the 4/5 fingers UP gesture to reveal the multi-tasking bar.

It's way more convenient (and quieter when I'm trying to be silent in bed and not disturb my girlfriend) than that home button double-click.

Do you reckon the iPad 1 chip can handle 4 fingers up -- granted there may be time involved in selectively enabling that gesture + pinch to home and disabling the left-right swipe -- or do you reckon the A5 is required for pinch-to home aswell?
