Error 3200 while restoring

I was restoring my iPad from iTunes when I got error 3200 and the process stopped. Surprisingly I had restored my iPhone with the same computer an hour back. Any help would be appreciated.

OK, this worked for me:

I turned off all three firewalls my computer is hiding behind!

Apple needs access to ports 80 and 443.

1) My ISP turns off those ports.

2) I believe the Windows firewall also turns off these ports.

3) My router's firewall also turns off these ports.

Hopefully this will be of help to some of you.

Don't forget to turn the firewalls back on once you're finished!

I got error 3200. The next time was error 3173. Now I've switched my iPhone into Airplane mode so as not to get interrupted with stupid notifications. I will post my results. Rumor is that the error is due to a server problem. If that is the case, then what dumbshit decided that it should contact the server while being installed (after it is downloaded)?

im really annoyed i started downloading thsi at 6pm yesterday GMT sauid 2 hrs got half way through twice and got kicked off eventualy it downladed at 10pm last night tried to update got the error and have tried more than 30 times to install since then and still getting the error message.

4hrs to donloade and 12 still string to get it to install onto my iphone4 even tried at 6am assuming america would be assleep and the apple servers would be a bit quieter! just daft of apple to create A a huge update and then leave people like this and yet again no OFFICIAL word from them ;(

I had the same problems (error 3022, 3014 and even 3173) on my attempt to update my iPhone 4 OS to 5. The end result was a bricked iPhone that would no longer even connect to my Windows 7 PC.

Note: If you are still having problems due to Apple's servers still being overwhelmed with upgrade requests, set an appointment with your closest Apple Store Genius Bar (as long as you have a local Apple Store that is). Each Apple Store has their own server; per the Genius Bar Tech; the download took only 7 minutes vs. it taking 2 hours at my home, and the best thing is that it all worked.

Well maybe not the best, because you can only set up your iPhone as a 'new' phone. Will try to restore from my last backup using iTunes after work today ... hope this works.

TO EVERYONE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM

There's nothing wrong with your iPad, iPhone, iPod. Nothing wrong with your system! Due to overload on Apple server these days you all get this errors (3200, 3004, 3014...)

DO NOT FIDDLE WITH YOUR SYSTEMS OR YOUR DEVICES!!!

Just be patient an try over and over again... maybe the next day. It will work.

TO ALL OF YOU, WHO HAD RESTORED YOUR DEVICE FROM BACKUP, BUT DIDN'T GET ALL YOUR APPS BACK

Just redo the restore from backup. Worked for me. I restored my iPhone 4 and first I got all preset apps back. No Music, no videos, but my mails and contacts. After second restore I got EVERYTHING back just as it was before... even game scores.😉
